SUMMARY OF THE JOB: 

The Branch Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring quality customer experiences, while delivering results that align with Liberty Bank’s business objectives. This position is responsible for the overall profitability of the branch by partnering with senior management to implement strategies/activities to achieve the Bank’s overall goals for their branch. In addition, the Branch Manager is responsible for growing market share and implements appropriate strategic sales activities within the team to drive new business.  The Branch Manager is responsible for building and deepening new banking relationships through coaching of teammates, proactive outreach and networking.

Additionally, the Branch Manager is responsible for ensuring operational and regulatory controls are adhered to including bank policy and procedures related to but not limited to compliance, loss and security.

This position will be located in Central Connecticut.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversees daily branch operations, provides comprehensive and prompt retail services; participates in daily operational and business development activities to achieve customer service and business growth objectives.
  • Manages all Human Resources activities, including but not limited to, recruiting, onboarding, training, delegation of work, performance appraisals, promotions, career development, and salary recommendations.
  • Facilitates teammates career growth through development planning, coaching, and training.
  • Branch Managers will conduct weekly pre-scheduled in-person business calls to acquire and deepen new and existing business relationships.
  • Maintains a balance of sales, service, and operations objectives.
  • Achieves assigned branch and individual sales goals through thorough knowledge of all banking products and services, teammate coaching, consistent behaviors and accountability. 
  • Manages account/deposit portfolios of the assigned branch; maintains strong relationships with top customers and seeks to grow and retain these relationships.
  • Facilitates and inspire teammates through daily huddles and weekly/monthly team meetings to achieve individual and branch goals.   
  • Partners with the Regional Market Manager to develop and execute strategies that are aligned with business plans.
  • Improves efficiencies and controls operating costs. Manages revenue and expenses to assigned budget with a focus on maximizing revenue opportunities and reducing expenses.
  • Ensures that audit controls are followed to protect the Bank from unnecessary risk and exposure by supporting compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Resolves complex customer service issues, ensuring quick and proper responses to all reasonable customer requests.
  • Develops new business relationships, representing Liberty Bank in professional associations and community networking events to enhance its image and develop additional business/referral sources.
  • Models and ensures a positive culture throughout and across the entire branch team as well as with interdepartmental contacts and resources; communicates and models our Corporate Mission and Values and direction to teammates. 
  • Ensures teammates are informed of any internal policies and procedures changes to ensure compliance. 
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal Regulations.
  • Adheres to and complies with Liberty Bank policies, standards, operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promotes a positive image of Liberty Bank; develops and maintains effective business relationships with customers and staff, serving as a liaison between branch and corporate departments.
  • Participates in community events and establish relationships for the benefit of the bank.
  • Staffs the branch at an appropriate level; maintains schedules to always provided adequate coverage.
  • Applies demonstrated knowledge of applicable banking laws and regulations; responds effectively and in a timely manner to organizational, business, and regulatory changes.
  • Creates a collaborative environment where teammates are encouraged to share thoughtful, constructive suggestions to promote innovation and efficiencies. 
  • Ensures branch facilities and equipment are well maintained in support of Liberty’s brand and reputation.
  • Analyzes problems and develops sound strategies to provide optimum solutions for all aspects of branch management.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum knowledge/skills:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years sales management experience in Retail and/or Financial Services industry. preferred.
  • Strong people leadership skills: ability to engage, motivate and develop teammates. 
  • Ability to coach and mentor teammates to achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Ability to develop new and existing business relationships, including disciplined weekly business calling as expected.
  • Ability to think strategically and assist the Market Manager to execute on the direction, priorities, and goals of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high concern for accuracy.
  • Ability to make sound decisions including managing the balance of risk and the delivery of a superior customer experience.
  • Well organized self-starter that has the ability to forecast and plan effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and position specific software as required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge regarding branch business operations and retail services.
  • Knowledge of digital banking and Branch Banking-related technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple ad hoc assignments.
  • Availability to work weekends and/or extended hours as required to run the business.
  • This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008.
