Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Branch Manager to oversee the operations and growth of our landscaping business. As a Branch Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the $4-8M landscape maintenance branch, including safety, people / team management, customer service, sales, operations, and financial performance. You will drive business growth, ensure client satisfaction, and uphold the company's standards of quality and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Safety - Create a Zero-Harm Work Environment:
  • Ensure compliance with national, local, and organizational health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Promote and monitor a strong safety culture and safe working environment. Ensure proper PPE use through regular inspections. Conduct regular safety meetings and implement safety training programs.
  • Investigate and report any incidents or accidents, taking appropriate corrective actions, and working toward a zero-harm workplace.

Leadership and Team Management:
  • Create an environment that makes the branch an employer of choice.
  • Interview, hire, lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales, operations, and administrative staff.
  • Provide role clarity, set clear expectations and performance goals, provide regular feedback, hold the team accountable, and have a regular rhythm of coaching and support.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative culture and work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Direct, Supervise, and/or Delegate responsibilities based on individual knowledge and expertise, coordinate tasks, and monitor team performance to achieve branch objectives.

Client Relationship Management:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients in the overall portfolio, building and nurturing strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Understand client needs, preferences, and goals, and align our services to meet their requirements.
  • Ensure teams engage in proactive communication with all clients.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling.
  • Actively seek client feedback and take proactive measures to enhance client satisfaction and loyalty.

Business Development and Sales:
  • Partner with the Business Developer(s) in the development of an Annual Strategic Growth Plan and execute business development strategies to drive maintenance and ancillary revenue growth and expand the client base.
  • Identify market opportunities, target clients, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop individual sales plans, set targets, and monitor progress.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new contracts and maintain client satisfaction.

Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee all operational activities of the branch, including project management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure the successful execution of landscape maintenance and landscaping projects through a "Go & See" mentality, ensuring the delivery of client-determined quality standards, and meeting overall client expectations.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and profitability, taking proactive measures to address any issues or risks.
  • Implement and maintain efficient processes, systems, and playbook procedures to optimize productivity and customer service, while seeking to continuously improve.

Financial Performance Management:
  • Develop and manage the branch budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance of the P&L, identifying areas for Direct / Indirect and SG&A cost savings and revenue growth.
  • Actively provide updated forecasts for Revenue and Costs.
  • Collaborate with the finance and accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Review and approve client invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely billing, and timely payment receipt.

Reporting and Communication:
  • Prepare regular reports on branch performance, including sales, operations, and financial metrics.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates, insights, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other branches and departments to share best practices and ensure consistency across the organization.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a leadership or management role, preferably in the landscaping or related service industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of landscaping principles, materials, and practices.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
