Position Summary

The Senior Accounts Payable Manager leads Global Accounts Payable across entities - Wholesale (Brokerage & Binding), RSUM, and RSUM International - with end-to-end accountability for carrier payments, bordereaux reporting, and managed claims. The role owns the strategy, controls, talent, and vendor relationship for carrier payables at scale, ensuring fiduciary funds are safeguarded and disbursed only to their legal owners.
Leading through managers and supervisors across multiple geographies and a managed-service (BPO) workforce, the Senior Manager sets direction, strengthens the control environment, and drives the transformation and automation agenda for AP. What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Global Accounts Payable across entities, owning strategy, service levels, controls, and outcomes.
  • Lead and develop a multi-layer organization of managers, supervisors, and senior individual contributors across geographies.
  • Own the strategy, controls, and outcomes for managed-claims payment and reporting across entities.
  • Own the AP managed-service (BPO) relationship and vendor governance, including performance, scope, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a strong control environment and full compliance with fiduciary duties, market agreement terms, and applicable regulations.
  • Set the strategy and roadmap for carrier payables, including standardization, automation, treasury integration, and resilience.
  • Define and govern enterprise AP metrics, SLAs, and risk indicators; drive corrective action and improvement.
  • Partner with executive leadership, corporate, front-office, and back-office business units on cross-functional strategy and major initiatives (including M&A integration).
  • Own budgeting, capacity planning, and workforce strategy across onshore, captive, and BPO populations.
  • Lead succession planning and capability building, developing the next generation of AP leaders.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and artificial intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and approved GenAI platforms) to scale performance, insight, and decision-making.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills & Proficiencies

  • Leadership of leaders across multiple geographies and delivery models
  • Enterprise ownership of carrier payables strategy, controls, and risk
  • Strategic vendor / BPO relationship and governance ownership
  • Workforce, capacity, and budget strategy across onshore, captive, and BPO
  • Executive partnership and influence across functions
  • Analytics- and AI-driven performance, insight, and transformation leadership

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in premium accounting, accounts payable, or a related discipline, with significant leadership experience.
  • Proven leadership of large, multi-geography teams and managed-service delivery.
  • Deep expertise in insurance fiduciary operations, controls, and complex funds flows.
