Description:

At Shredfast Inc., a Box Assembly Technician – Tier 1 is responsible for constructing the completed boxes which house the mechanical components and storage space of mobile document disposal trucks. Box assembly is a multistep process that requires basic assembly skills and a high degree of attention to detail and work ethic to achieve optimal quality in all box builds. This position reports to the Box Department Lead.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assemble completed walls and doors on sub frame
  • Install box roof components and roof skin
  • Ensure box is square through the use of jigs and squares
  • Seal all potential box leaks to weatherproof final builds
  • Integration and installation of lights into box build
  • Finish work as appropriate for specified box builds
  • Basic metal fabrication including cutting and grinding
  • Other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, get in and out of vehicles and work on ladders throughout the day
  • Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
  • Dependable transportation required
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment

Additional Information

All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol – THC & nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites- CBD), amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, opioids (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).

Shift Schedule:

Monday to Friday / 7:00am – 3:00pm (non-exempt) for Full-Time position

  • Previous experience with construction or assembly preferred
  • Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • ·Read a tape measure
  • Ability to use basic hand tools, drills & air tools
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when moving heavy items such as completed box walls and doors, and be able to sit, stand, crouch and kneel
  • Must be self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Must have reliable transportation for work commute
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
