Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
A Drawer Box Assembler builds, rails, and fronts drawer boxes for cabinets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Use air tools, hand tools, jigs, and other equipment to build drawer boxes, prepare dummy fronts, and install rails/clips onto completed boxes
  • Use glue to assemble drawer boxes and hot melt glue to attach rails to boxes
  • Ensure quality specifications are met for all aspects of drawer box assembly
  • Use a computer system to perform building and fronting of the drawer box
  • Accurately interpret production labels
  • Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types and styles
  • Ability to use basic math concepts and read a standard tape measure

Required Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

Required Physical Ability:
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, crouching, pulling and pushing
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures.
  • Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, and gloves.
  • The noise level is usually moderate to high.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work as required.
