Job description

About Boundless Life

Boundless Life is redefining the way families live, work, and learn by empowering them to embrace a nomadic lifestyle that fosters deeper connections and personal growth. We provide family-friendly accommodations, an innovative education system that travels with you, and vibrant communities of like-minded individuals. Our mission is to create immersive "live abroad" experiences that balance professional commitments with enriching personal development.

Since our founding in 2021, we've rapidly expanded to eight locations, bringing together over 190 team members from diverse backgrounds. Our growth reflects our commitment to transforming the experience economy and making a meaningful impact on how families integrate work, education, and exploration into their lives.

At Boundless Life, we believe in the power of community and the importance of a holistic approach to education. Our programs are designed to inspire curiosity, build resilience, and nurture a global perspective, preparing children for an ever-changing future.Join us in pioneering a new way of living that harmoniously blends work, learning, and adventure, enabling families to thrive in a connected and dynamic world.

The role

As Expanded General Manager, you are the local leader of your Boundless Life location - accountable for the entire operation and for the experience every family has while they're with us.

You'll oversee hospitality, education support, community, facilities, partnerships, and business performance, making sure they function as one connected service rather than separate departments. You'll lead the local team, manage the location as a business unit, and act as the bridge between global strategy and what actually happens on the ground.

This is a player-coach role. You'll set direction and develop your team, and you'll also be visibly present in the day-to-day - solving problems, meeting families, and staying close to the detail. It's locally based: you're expected to live in or near the location.

What you'll own

The operation. The location runs well and feels like one coherent experience. Check-ins, cohort starts, turnovers and the moments that matter to families happen smoothly. You spot gaps and fix them rather than escalating them.

The family experience. You're accountable for NPS and rebooking. That means building real relationships with families, gathering and acting on feedback, and making sure service failures get resolved fast and properly.

The team. You build and lead a high-performing local team across functions - hiring, onboarding, coaching, holding people to standards, and creating a culture where people want to stay. You'll partner with our People team on employee relations and local compliance.

Education support. Our Education Center Director owns pedagogy and the day-to-day learning experience. You make sure they can do that job: staffing, schedules, spaces, equipment, and operational support, plus safeguarding, health and safety, and facilities readiness before each cohort.

The numbers. You manage the local budget, monitor margins and KPIs, and make data-informed calls that balance experience quality against financial sustainability. You'll find revenue opportunities without eroding what families came for.

Partnerships and property. You build and manage relationships with local vendors, property owners, authorities, and businesses - negotiating well, holding contractors to standard, and representing Boundless Life in the local market. You'll also support property onboarding and local real estate projects.

Compliance and risk. You keep the location operating within local law and company policy, and you surface risks early rather than managing them reactively.

Growth. You contribute local insight to how we scale, support new programmes and services, and help shape what the Boundless Life operating model looks like as we grow.

Success is measured by: NPS and rebooking rate, employee NPS and team retention, and location margins.

About you

  • Proven experience leading a team, ideally across multiple functions
  • A track record of creating experiences that produce high customer satisfaction - and the instinct to build rapport quickly in family- or guest-facing settings
  • Strong operational judgement: you see inefficiency and fix it
  • Commercial ownership - you've managed a budget or P&L and made trade-offs between cost, quality, and experience
  • Experience negotiating and managing vendors, contracts, or partnerships
  • Comfortable in fast-growing or startup environments where the process doesn't exist yet
  • Fluent in English and the local language, written and spoken
  • Willing to be based in or near the location and present in the day-to-day

What's in it for you

  • Work somewhere extraordinary, with a genuinely international community around you
  • Real ownership - you run the location, not a slice of it
  • Create the cultural moments and friendships families remember for years
  • Structured schedules with time to explore and recharge
  • Discounted tuition for your children at our Boundless Schools

See our full policies and benefits here

What's next?

  1. Video interview - 4-5 questions about your experience
  2. Screening call with our Recruitment team (30 min)
  3. Interview with our Head of Hospitality Operations (60 min)
  4. Interview with our COO (60 min)
  5. Interview with our Head of People & Culture (60 min)
  6. Interview with our Co-founder and CEO (60 min)

The process may shift slightly as we go - we'll keep you posted throughout.
