Job description

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Duties include inspecting and packing bottles at standard rate on assigned line(s). Responsible for general housekeeping. Assisting in scrap removal and grinding. May be required to tape and unitize cartons.

1. Quality

Complete required information on exception reports as indicated per procedure. Communication and reporting of non-conforming ware or problems noted during shift to next shift. Responsible for knowledge of quality standards, specifications, and quality complaints. General understanding of quality requirements for all containers. Personal inspection of product quality.

2. Safety

Responsible for enforcing safety policies and reporting safety violations. Know and apply written safety procedures Inspect work areas and look for unsafe acts or situations. Maintain clean work areas.

3. Production

Train new personnel on job requirements. Maximize production of quality product. Follow Silgan standard practices Effective use of verbal and written communications Be able to read and effectively use information on Pick Lists posted on lines. Packing/Stacking assigned lines as required per procedures with effective and efficient acceptability. Understanding of stacking patterns, job folders, and customer specifications.

4. Employee Relations

Administer both Company and local policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards. Adhere to Silgan dress codes including appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as earplugs, safety glasses, etc.

5. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Preferred: High School or GED

EXPERIENCE: Preferred: 1 year manufacturing experience.

SKILLS: Required: Must be dependable, have a good attendance record and be able to understand bottle specifications to assure proper bottle inspection

Hourly compensation: Day Shift-$18.09 hourly plus benefits

Night Shift-$19.09 hourly plus benefits
