Ninth Grade Boss Academy -Bilingual Teacher Aide
William Penn Senior High School
Reports to: Program Supervisor
Dates: Staff - June 10, 2026 - July 16, 2026
           Students: June 15, 2026 - July 16, 2026




Experience and Qualifications:  
The YCSD Summer BOSS Program is seeking Bilingual Teacher Aides for ninth grades students to assist with instruction for Summer program.  A YCSD School Summer BOSS Bilingual Teacher Aide must demonstrate the vision and passion necessary to assist an innovative program dedicated to educational enrichment and academic excellence.  S/he shall report to the YCSD School Summer BOSS Program Supervisor, and will be expected to work collaboratively and effectively with the YCSD School Summer BOSS  Program Supervisor as well as with all YCSD School Summer BOSS staff.
A YCSD School Summer BOSS  Bilingual Teacher Aidel is expected to be present each day, demonstrate an appropriate professional decorum, promote an atmosphere conducive to learning, exhibit a customer- service mindset, manage deadlines, and maintain discipline with energy, integrity, creativity, and drive.
A YCSD School Summer BOSS Bilingual Teacher Aide is responsible for Helping plan, coordinate, and implementation of student lessons in reading/writing, mathematics, and character education in accordance to the School District of the City of York's policies and the YCSD School Summer BOSS goals.  Classroom duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Daily





  1. Assist with targeted and intensive reading/writing and mathematics instruction with a structured, regular routine.
  2. Establish high expectations and classroom routines to maximize student engagement and to minimize off-task behaviors.
  3. Develop strong relationships with students, and strong relationships among students.
  4. Assist with character education development by teaching lessons as determined by an assigned scheduled
  5. Actively establish student routines and self-discipline.
  6. Assist with Assessment and measurement of student progress.
  7. Maintain accurate student attendance including tardiness.
  8. Greet students at the classroom door.
  9. Distribute breakfast to students.
  10. Escort students to the cafeteria for lunch and dismissal.
  11. Assist with next day's lessons ready for classroom when departing for the day.
  12. Respect "host" classrooms

Weekly

  1. Communicate with parents about specific instructional and behavioral data of students (3 telephone contacts / per student for the program)
  2. Assist with completing progress reports to send home to parents on Thursdays.
  3. Complete parent telephone contact logs when parent contact is necessary

End of Program

  1. Inventory all program materials and return to program Supervisor
  2. Return "host" classroom to its original configuration.
  3. Complete a program evaluation
