Field Service Technician – Electric Bus / High Voltage Electrical
Be part of advancing innovation and sustainable transit solutions in the dynamic transportation industry.
Work as a Field Service Technician – Electric Bus / High Voltage Electrical for an international transit manufacturer and parts distributor. This position is responsible for providing electrical expertise in the field on high-voltage electric transit buses. The ideal candidate will have experience troubleshooting complex electrical systems and a background in electric buses, HVAC, or other related technical fields.
Job Responsibilities
  • Work with advanced electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell technology, troubleshooting electronic, electrical, and some mechanical high-voltage issues.
  • Install electrical systems and components on transit vehicles.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and electrical equipment.
  • Repair or replace wiring, relays, motors, lighting, and other electrical components.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical problems using testing equipment including ammeters, voltmeters, multimeters, and cable testers.
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
Job Requirements
  • E-bus experience is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including electrical wiring, circuit testing, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of multiplex systems.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, process sheets, schematics, and technical instructions as required.
  • Solid customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • PLC and ladder logic experience preferred.
  • High-voltage experience and hydrogen training or certification preferred.
  • General knowledge of transit bus, hybrid, and/or electric drive systems is ideal but not required.
  • Extensive travel is required.
