Print Manager - Wide Web Flexographic Printing
Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Print Manager to lead our wide web flexographic printing operations. This role demands a leader who is deeply committed to process control, standardization, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong leadership background, with technical expertise in flexographic printing and lamination processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee daily operations of wide web flexographic printing, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Implement and enforce standardized work procedures, promoting a "print by recipe" approach to achieve consistent and repeatable results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Prepress, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Scheduling, to ensure seamless workflow and communication.

2. Process Control & Continuous Improvement:
  • Develop and maintain process control systems to monitor and improve printing operations.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process optimization.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, employing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

3. Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop corrective and preventive actions for non-conformities.

4. Team Development & Leadership:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of press operators and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Promote a positive work environment that encourages employee engagement and retention.

5. Technical Expertise:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in flexographic printing and lamination processes, providing guidance and support to the team.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades or modifications to improve production capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Printing Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in flexographic printing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of implementing process control systems and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience with wide web flexographic presses, solvent-based and water-based inks, and various substrates (e.g., BOPP, PE, PET).

Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools and manufacturing software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed
  • Overtime as needed

Experience:
  • Flexographic Printing: 7 years (Preferred)
  • Managerial Role: 3 years (Preferred)
