Job Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse by assisting patients with activities of daily living, monitoring basic health measures, and promoting a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. This position is vital to the delivery of quality patient care and requires compassion, professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.
Essential Functions
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will:
  • Assist patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Take and accurately record vital signs.
  • Monitor and document patient intake and output.
  • Assist with meals, feeding, hydration, and nutrition.
  • Safely transfer, reposition, and transport patients using proper techniques.
  • Assist patients with walking and mobility.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
  • Apply comfort measures such as warm or cold compresses as directed.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
  • Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Keep patient rooms clean, organized, and safe.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Attend required education, training, and staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by nursing leadership.
Qualifications
  • Current West Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification in good standing.
  • Completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous hospital or healthcare experience.preferred
