Job description

The Bookstore Sales Associate supports daily retail and e-commerce operations of the Georgia Military College Bookstore by providing customer service, processing in-store and online transactions, fulfilling orders, and supporting textbook, uniform, and merchandise distribution. This position exists to ensure student, faculty, staff and visitors have reliable access to instructional materials and campus merchandise through both in-person and online channels. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Customer Service (In-store and online)
  • Sales Transactions & POS/Online order processing
  • E-commerce order fulfillment & logistics
  • Inventory, textbooks, uniforms, receiving & ordering support
  • Store presentation, merchandising & operational support

*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Required Qualifications:

  • Highschool diploma or GED
  • 1 year of retail, customer service, or cash-handling experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to operate POS systems and online order platforms
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, order tracking systems)
  • Ability to package, ship, receive and organize merchandise
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-40lbs
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Some college coursework
  • Experience in a college bookstore or campus retail environment; experience with uniforms or inventory systems
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or online retail operations
  • Experience with shipping carriers, order fulfillment, and inventory systems
  • Familiarity with textbook operations or campus retail environments
