This is a Part-Time Position with an hour rate of $16.92.
Position Summary
The PT Bookstore Specialist provides customer service and operational support for the College bookstore. This position assists with point-of-sale transactions, merchandise management, inventory movement, and data entry activities while helping ensure an efficient and customer-focused retail environment. The specialist supports daily bookstore operations and contributes to the effective presentation and sale of merchandise.

About the College - SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St. Johns River. With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Duties and Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales
• Operate the bookstore point-of-sale system
• Assist customers with merchandise purchases and inquiries
• Provide courteous and professional customer service
• Support daily retail operations and sales activities
Inventory and Merchandise Management
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and transfer of merchandise between locations
• Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and stocked
• Assist with inventory organization and merchandise handling
• Support bookstore merchandising and presentation efforts
Administrative Support
• Perform data entry and recordkeeping activities
• Maintain accurate transaction and inventory records
• Assist with other bookstore-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
• Associate degree preferred
• Two years of retail or office experience preferred
• General understanding of retail operations preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of basic retail operations and customer service practices
• Ability to operate a point-of-sale system accurately and efficiently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform data entry with attention to detail
• Ability to organize and display merchandise effectively
