Job description

The Store Support Clerk supports a customer centric culture by taking on operational duties including welcoming customers, acting as cashier and/or pet wash attendant as needed, replenishing and maintaining products and other duties that add to store efficiency and support Sales Consultants to focus on delivering a highly satisfying customer experience.

Responsibilities:
Engage
  • Create a welcoming environment by greeting customers when on the sales floor and connecting them to Sales Consultants as appropriate.
Learn
  • Participate in training and continuous educational programs to develop your pet knowledge and build customer service skills.
  • Stay up to date about new products and the pet community.
Operate
  • Maintain warehouse and understock, including both merchandise and non-merchandise, to company standard to enable efficient replenishment.
  • Process product to be floor ready, reducing replenishment hours and ensuring a well-stocked sales floor.
  • Support cashiering and pet wash operations.
  • Assist with other projects as directed, including daily inventory, pricing, markdowns, merchandise returns, and planogram changes.
  • Assist in housekeeping of sales floor, warehouse and store areas and communicate any maintenance needs.
  • Maintain an awareness of loss prevention by supporting a culture of honesty and connecting the links between customer service and shrink.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Must bring a strong team player attitude and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to follow through on tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; will require weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules.
  • Ability to climb and balance using a ladder and/or step stool.
  • Ability to continuously stand, walk, bend, stretch and engage in repetitive motions throughout shift.

The salary range for this position is expected to be $17.70-$18.70 per hour. Pet Food Express determines starting salary based on many factors, including but not limited to, local market rate, the qualified pool of candidates, internal compensation practices, a candidate's actual skills and experience, and budget constraints.
