Job description

Product Manager - SAP Transportation Management (TM)

Division: Radiant Global Logistics, Inc.

Classification: Exempt

Job Type: Full-Time (On-site)

Location: Renton, WA

Salary Range: $98k - $127k

Job Summary, Objectives

The Product Manager - SAPTM is Radiant's internal product owner for the SAP Transportation Management platform. This role sits at the intersection of freight-forwarding operations, IT delivery, and data strategy โ€” translating complex logistics workflows into actionable platform requirements, leading station onboarding onto SAP TM, and embedding AI and analytics capabilities into the platform to improve operator efficiency and margin. Reporting to the Director of TM Product, this person partners with SAP Basis, ABAP development teams, AMS providers, station operations leadership, and the data platform group to own the full product lifecycle for SAP TM at Radiant.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Own the SAP TM product roadmap โ€” prioritize enhancements, integrations, and new module rollouts against business value, station onboarding commitments, and technical feasibility.

  • Serve as primary business process owner for core TM domains: Forwarding Order (FO/FWO), Freight Unit (FU), Freight Order/Booking (FRO/FB), Event Management (EM), and settlement/billing.

  • Partner with SAP Basis and AMS teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications; review and formally accept delivered enhancements in UAT.

  • Maintain a groomed product backlog in Jira/Confluence; run sprint reviews and release planning with development and AMS teams.

  • Engage station managers and operations leads to capture workflow requirements โ€” quoting, cost-plus pricing, AWB handling โ€” and translate them into platform capabilities or configuration changes.

  • Own the quoting and rate management capability roadmap within TM to support network-wide adoption.

  • Collaborate with the data platform team on TM data pipelines to surface operational KPIs, revenue analytics, and exception dashboards for management.

  • Define product requirements for AI-assisted features: intelligent routing recommendations, exception flagging, anomaly detection, and operator UX enhancements within TM.

  • Work with the AI initiatives team to embed LLM-powered capabilities into TM workflows, with appropriate attention to data governance, audit trails, and operator trust.

  • Ensure TM configuration and workflows support regulatory and compliance requirements, including ITAR/EAR classification controls, customs valuation integrity, and audit log quality.

  • Partner with Legal and Compliance on export-controlled and government-vertical freight workflows; maintain accurate item description, classification, and customs data standards.

  • Support SAP license management: track TM user counts, named user types, and module entitlements in coordination with Finance.

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with TM AMS providers; evaluate SOW deliverables, escalate performance issues, and contribute to vendor selection decisions.

QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Master's degree, MBA, or relevant SAP certification (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate โ€“ Transportation Management, SAP LoB Transportation & Logistics) preferred.

Experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years in enterprise software product management, business analysis, or solution architecture, with at least 3 years of direct, hands-on SAP TM or equivalent ERP system experience.

  • Proven track record owning a ERP or TMS platform rollout โ€” from gap analysis and BRD through station onboarding, UAT, and go-live.

  • Experience running UAT cycles with operations stakeholders and managing defect triage against go-live criteria.

  • Background in international freight forwarding (air and/or ocean) at a 3PL, freight forwarder, or carrier a plus.

  • Experience managing or co-managing AMS/SI vendor relationships, including SOW review and delivery accountability.

Technical Skills
  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP TM or equivalent core objects: Forwarding Order, Freight Unit, Freight Order, Freight Booking, Charge Management, and settlement document flow.

  • Ability to write clear functional specifications, data flow diagrams, and user stories; comfortable reviewing ABAP technical designs without writing code.

  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or equivalent product management and documentation tooling.

  • Familiarity with analytical data platforms (ClickHouse, Snowflake, or similar) used alongside SAP TM for operational reporting.

  • Exposure to AI/ML product features or automation tooling in logistics or supply chain contexts is a plus.

  • Experience working in SAP PI/PO and ECC environments preferred.

  • Knowledge of REST APIs and experience integrating SAP TM with external systems or middleware preferred.

  • Familiarity with the SAP TM development lifecycle โ€” including transport management, configuration workbench, ABAP development in ADT, and release promotion across DEV/QA/PRD landscapes โ€” is a plus.

  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, or government freight compliance requirements preferred.

Soft Skills
  • Strong communication skills โ€” able to present roadmap priorities and tradeoff decisions clearly to leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and station operations teams.

  • Collaborative and influential leadership style; able to align cross-functional teams (IT, Operations, Finance, Legal) without direct authority over all participants.

  • Structured problem-solver: comfortable decomposing ambiguous operational pain points into well-defined product requirements.

  • Comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-moving environment, with clear prioritization and transparent status communication.

  • Strong vendor management instincts: able to hold AMS partners to contractual commitments while maintaining productive working relationships.

Work Schedule
  • Full time schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Climate-controlled office with a typically moderate noise level.

  • Regular physical activity: walking, sitting, handling materials, keyboarding, and reaching.

  • Visual demands include close, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $98,000 - $127,000 annually

Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
