Job description

OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking aProject Equipment Managerfor our data center project located in LaPorte, IN.

The Project Equipment Manager is primarily responsible for managing all equipment-related matters on their assigned project or projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and track Jobsite equipment schedule such as making requests, end dates, transfers, schedule certification, etc.
  • Manage daily equipment inspections/reviews.
  • Approve and process repair authorizations less than $5,000.
  • Manage all equipment and vehicle repairs/maintenance. Coordinate with REM for RA's.
  • Ensure vehicle inspection and emission requirements are met on all company vehicles onsite in a timely manner.
  • Work with Dealers OEM's & Vendors with Repair Authorization process from open to close.
  • Work with OEM's to manage Product Improvement Program updates to equipment. Assist Equipment Managers with requesting OEM Warranty and Post warranty claims.
  • Manage national vendor accounts and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Review rental and purchase contracts.
  • Update equipment and vehicle meter submissions weekly.
  • Manage shift, monthly and annual Crane Inspection Program.
  • Manage DOT Driver Qualification Program, DVIR's and Log Book requirements on all commercial motor vehicles.
  • Schedule and manage preventative maintenance events for equipment and vehicles on assigned projects.
  • Responsible for hiring/firing/discipline/performance/rate increase/etc. for direct reports.
  • Assist Regional Equipment Manager with any special projects that come up in the course of business.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor of Science or comparable technical degree is preferred, however prior work experience will be considered.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate certifications required to enhance job duties, in particular:
  • Mobile Crane Inspector Certification by an accredited source
  • Rigging Certification by an accredited source
  • Crane assembly/disassembly director (Company Qualification and internal training)
  • Minimum 7 yrs. of work experience in managing equipment fleets in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Experience in mechanical systems and repair strategies for a broad range of construction equipment, including ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Working Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
  • Working Knowledge of OSHA laws and other safety regulatory matters as they related to construction equipment
  • Strong computer skills, including Outlook, work order systems and windows based management systems
  • Physical Requirements & Working Conditions (include amount of travel):
  • Frequent travel and exposure to many construction jobsite conditions, remote offices and visits to Corporate Office and Central Maintenance facility for training and team building events
