Litigation Paralegal – Intellectual Property Litigation

Salary: $100,000 – $125,000


A highly respected boutique intellectual property law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its growing team in Washington, DC. This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's leading IP litigators on sophisticated, high-stakes matters from inception through appeal.


The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience and the ability to independently manage all phases of complex litigation, including case development, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appellate support.

What You'll Do

  • Manage case files, databases, and litigation documents throughout the lifecycle of a case.
  • Maintain court dockets and proactively monitor deadlines and filing requirements.
  • Coordinate document collection, review, production, and e-discovery projects.
  • Conduct legal, factual, and investigative research using Lexis, Westlaw, and other research platforms.
  • Prepare and organize pleadings, motions, exhibits, discovery requests and responses, trial materials, and appellate filings.
  • Assist attorneys with hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Cite-check, proofread, and quality-control legal filings and correspondence.
  • Track billable time and support accurate client billing.
  • Serve as a critical resource to attorneys from pre-litigation strategy through final resolution and appeal.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm environment.
  • Strong knowledge of federal court rules, procedures, and electronic filing requirements (CM/ECF).
  • Experience managing complex litigation matters from start to finish.
  • Proficiency with Lexis, Westlaw, e-discovery platforms, and litigation support technology.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
