Job description

Electrophysiology Cardiologist – Bon Secours | Coastal Virginia

Location: Hampton Roads Region, Virginia (Suffolk & Newport News)

The Opportunity

Bon Secours is seeking a fellowship-trained Electrophysiology Cardiologist to join our established and growing cardiovascular team in the beautiful coastal Hampton Roads region of Virginia. This position will be based primarily at our new Harbour View Medical Center EP Lab in Suffolk, VA—a state-of-the-art facility slated for completion in 2026—with future expansion of EP services anticipated at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News in 2027.

You’ll join a collegial and experienced cardiology group with robust clinical and administrative support, advanced technology, and access to a diverse and growing patient population.

Start date for this position is 2027.


Position Highlights
  • Full-Time Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

  • Call: 1:6 weekends with weekday rotation

  • Patient Volume: 20+ patients per day

  • Population: Adult and Geriatric

  • EMR: EPIC (inpatient & outpatient), MyChart integration, and DAX/CoPilot AI charting, Dragon dictation

  • Mentorship: Available for new graduates

  • Effective 7/1/26 - No Non-Compete in employment agreement

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive electrophysiology care, including diagnosis and management of abnormal heart rhythms

  • Perform procedures such as Watchman device implantation, ablations including left-sided/left sided access, device implants, lead extractions, 3D mapping and difficult arrhythmias

  • Manage complex cases with the support of an experienced, multidisciplinary staff

  • Collaborate with other specialists across the Bon Secours network to deliver patient-centered cardiovascular care


Qualifications
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Electrophysiology by ABMS/ABIM

  • U.S. Based Residency and Fellowship training programs
  • Fellowship Trained in Electrophysiology

  • Proficient in Watchman procedures, ablations, and device implants

  • Unrestricted medical licensure OR Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Virginia

  • New graduates and experienced electrophysiologists are encouraged to apply

  • Authorized to work anywhere in the U.S.

Compensation & Benefits

Bon Secours offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward excellence and support work–life balance:

  • Guaranteed base salary $700,000 for first two years plus productivity and quality incentives if wRVU threshold is met.

  • Bonus Available:  wRVU Productivity, $ per wRVU Quality goal, System KPI attainment
