Occupancy & Facility Planner - JLL

What this job involves:

As an Occupancy & Facility Planner at JLL, you will be at the heart of strategic workspace optimization, partnering with Facility Management, Real Estate teams, and business leaders to develop comprehensive occupancy plans that drive organizational efficiency and support evolving business demands across a multi-state portfolio. This dynamic role combines strategic planning expertise with hands-on project coordination, where you'll create detailed programming documents, develop building stack plans, and oversee workplace relocations that directly impact how our clients optimize their real estate investments. You'll leverage cutting-edge space management technology and data analytics to proactively identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance the workplace experience while maximizing space utilization and operational excellence across JLL's diverse portfolio.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Partner with cross-functional teams and business leaders to develop building-level occupancy plans and strategic space allocation solutions across multiple states

Create detailed 2D floor plans, ceiling plans, and site documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software while ensuring BOMA standard compliance

Analyze occupancy data, headcount demand, and space utilization metrics to identify gaps, optimize vacancy solutions, and recommend efficient space allocation strategies

Coordinate workplace relocations, space reconfigurations, and furniture management projects from concept through implementation with minimal business disruption

Conduct field verification visits to gather accurate dimensional data and ensure as-built documentation reflects actual facility conditions

Develop comprehensive programming documents, presentation materials, and implementation hand-off documentation for strategic occupancy initiatives

Maintain CAD file libraries with proper version control, naming conventions, and system layouts including HVAC, electrical, fire, and security plans

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of business execution, strategic planning, or implementation experience in corporate real estate, facility management, or related field

High proficiency in AutoCAD software with demonstrated experience creating detailed architectural drawings and floor plans

Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings and building systems

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience gathering requirements, presenting options, and facilitating decision-making processes

Experience with space measurement, allocation, and utilization based on industry standards (BOMA preferred)

Ability to work independently and make strategic recommendations to leadership and executive management

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree or certificate in drafting, engineering technology, architecture, or related technical field

2+ years of office space and occupancy planning experience within large corporate environments or as an occupancy planning consultant

Experience with Facility Management Systems (FMS) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel

Previous experience coordinating small to medium facility projects including budget tracking and contractor management

Knowledge of workplace trends, space planning methodologies, and corporate real estate best practices

Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and additional design software (Revit, SketchUp, or similar platforms)

Experience with data analytics and reporting tools for space utilization and occupancy analysis

Location: St. Paul, MN

Work Shift: Standard business hours

Estimated compensation for this position:

48,000.00 - 71,800.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
