Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Bolt-Up Mechanic to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in the assembly and maintenance of various industrial and mechanical systems, ensuring the integrity and safety of bolted connections. This position involves working on complex industrial projects, requiring a strong understanding of bolting techniques and safety practices. As a Bolt-Up Mechanic at Total-Western, you will contribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable operations for our clients, ensuring that downtime is minimized and productivity is maximized.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks on industrial machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal functioning and to prevent unscheduled downtime. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with machinery and equipment. Use problem-solving skills to identify the root causes of mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.
Equipment Installation and Upgrades:
Assist with the installation of new equipment, upgrades, and system improvements. Ensure that all new systems and machines are tested for functionality and safety before they are fully operational.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and standards while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure a safe work environment by identifying hazards, conducting safety checks, and promoting a safety-first culture on-site.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, including equipment maintenance schedules, inventory of spare parts, and reports on completed tasks. Communicate with management regarding any potential issues or recommendations for equipment improvements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure that machinery is maintained in peak condition and that production targets are met. Provide technical support as needed to other departments.
On-Call Availability:
Be available for on-call assignments as needed, including emergency repairs outside regular working hours to minimize operational downtime.
Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and equipment.
• Experience with welding, machining, and fabrication skills is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with safety standards and OSHA regulations.

Preferred Experience:

• Perform bolting and assembly operations on piping, structural components, and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure accurate alignment and tightening of bolts to required specifications using torque wrenches, tensioners, and hydraulic tools.
• Verify the integrity of bolted joints through inspection and testing methods.
• Operate and maintain bolting equipment and tools, including torque wrenches, impact wrenches, and hydraulic tensioning devices.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure that all bolted connections meet or exceed industry standards and client requirements.

Work Environment:
This role is primarily based in an industrial setting. You will be required to work in a variety of conditions, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and other job sites. The position may involve exposure to noisy, high-temperature, or hazardous environments, depending on the location. Adherence to safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is essential.
Reporting Structure:
The Bolt-up Mechanic will report to the Maintenance Supervisor or Site Manager. This position will also collaborate with other maintenance personnel and various departments to ensure the smooth operation of equipment and machinery.
