Job description

Under the supervision of either the Manager Facilities or Director of Facilities, performs emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance in such diverse are as boiler operations, electrical, plumbing, HVAC&R, and mechanical. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action on systems and equipment unique to a health care facility. Must have strong knowledge and experience in two or more described areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES
    Demonstrates ability to assess problem/situation and either complete repair or contact appropriate personnel. 
    Technical skills will be maintained and enhanced over time as mechanical skills advance. 
    Utilizes tools and test equipment associated with repair tasks.
    Reads and understands blue prints.
    Defines potential problems before equipment fails. 
    Responsible for notification of low stock inventories
    Willing to respond in emergency situations.
    Performs all repair work or preventative maintenance in a safe and acceptable manner. 
    Maintains a level of productivity that includes quality, efficiency, accountability and cost effectiveness. 
    Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

REQUIRED
    High School Graduate or equivalent.
    Boiler operator or Boiler Engineer certification
    Minimum of 5 years' previous experience in boiler operations plus two or more of the described areas: mechanical (incl. plumbing), HVAC/R, electrical or carpentry.
