Position: Kitchen Staff / Line Cook / Prep Cook
Department: Back of House
Reports to: Kitchen Manager or Store Manager
Job Summary:
As a BOH team member at our fast casual Greek restaurant, you are responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating authentic Greek dishes efficiently and with high quality, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items such as gyros, souvlaki, rice bowls, Greek salads, spanakopita, hummus, and dips.
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations and kitchen equipment.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks (sweep, mop, sanitize).
- Check temperatures and follow food safety protocols (FIFO, labeling, etc.).
- Assist with inventory, deliveries, and restocking supplies.
- Communicate with FOH to ensure smooth service and timely orders.
- Follow all health and safety regulations (HACCP/ServSafe preferred).
Qualifications:
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen or quick service restaurant preferred.
- Knowledge of Greek or Mediterranean cuisine is a plus.
- Strong time management and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be punctual, clean, and reliable.
