Materials & Processes Electrical Engineer

Boeing Research & Technology is looking for an Materials and Processes (M&P) ElectricalEngineer that provides support to a diverseMaterials and Processes Engineering team in support of integrated product teams (IPT's) serving a wide variety of airplane programs at Boeing Oklahoma City.

As a member of this team this assignment will be to provide general Materials and Processes Engineering guidance to lead the selection of materials, processes, and standard parts for electrical and electronics parts/assembly/installation design as a member of and in support of integrated product teams (IPT's).

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide input into the control of EE PM&P used in the design, fabrication and production of electrical/electronic boxes, assemblies and interconnect systems.

  • Provide support to the designers in the specification and process development of materials and processes needed to build printed wiring boards, printed wiring assemblies, and LRUs.

  • Support the development and implementation of top-level program M&P control plans/schedules and review and approve plans from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Select EE PM&P and review part/material usage within engineering documents and drawings and evaluate against contractual requirements.

  • Support the reduction of hazardous materials while maintaining product reliability.

  • Work with manufacturing shops on processes and compliance of production to meet the program M&P requirements, answering questions and revising drawing notes as needed.

  • Reviews subcontractor documentation for M&P requirement compliance and works with suppliers as needed to accomplish this.

  • Develops and executes the Parts, Material and Processes management plan with general supervision as required by contract and Boeing procedures for the purpose of promoting standardization, reducing cost and to assure consistent application of technology.

  • Identifies verification methods to obtain objective evidence for customers.

  • Validates and documents that Parts, Materials and Processes meet the intended applications with guidance from subject matter experts.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

  • 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's, or work-related experience with a Masters

  • 1+ years of engineering experience in Aerospace industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Materials and Processes engineering in Aerospace industry

  • 1+ years of experience associated with the development, selection, and/or revision of parts, materials, and processes specifications used to make electronics and/or support of interconnect systems

  • 1+ years of experience working with suppliers of electronics

  • Must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.

  • Prior program work experience with aircraft

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 2 (Associate): Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 1 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
