Job Description

The Aircraft Technician performs disassembly and assembly of aircraft components, including wings, fuselage, and landing gear, in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and maintenance procedures. This role includes cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft structures and systems, as well as performing A-checks on Boeing aircraft. The technician uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to ensure all work meets stringent safety, quality, and regulatory standards for commercial and widebody aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and assemble aircraft parts such as wings, fuselage, and landing gear following engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Clean, inspect, and repair aircraft components and structures, identifying wear, damage, and discrepancies and performing corrective actions as required.
  • Perform A-checks and other routine line maintenance tasks on Boeing aircraft, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company procedures.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to complete assemblies, adjustments, and repairs accurately and safely.
  • Conduct troubleshooting on airframe and related systems to diagnose issues and determine appropriate repair or maintenance actions.
  • Carry out heavy maintenance and repair work on widebody and commercial aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance programs.
  • Perform detailed inspections on aircraft and components to verify airworthiness, documenting findings and maintenance actions clearly and accurately.
  • Follow established maintenance, repair, and quality control procedures to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with aviation standards.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and maintenance personnel to coordinate work, share technical information, and meet operational schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the hangar and on the line, adhering to all safety policies and practices.
  • Support maintenance activities across multiple airline contracts as assigned, adapting to different aircraft types and operational requirements.
  • Use technical training and continuous improvement principles to enhance maintenance practices and contribute to overall service quality.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in aircraft maintenance and repair, with hands-on work on commercial aircraft airframes.
  • Ability to perform disassembly and assembly of aircraft components, including wings, fuselage, and landing gear, using engineering drawings and specifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with line maintenance operations on aircraft such as B787 and A350 is beneficial.
  • Airframe-related training or certification is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
