Job description

Physical Security Specialist

Company:

The Boeing Company seeks an experienced Physical Security Specialist to join our team in Berkeley, MO.

This position provides essential security support at job sites, ensuring compliance with Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705 requirements. The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining security of construction areas, monitoring personnel, and documenting progress for secure spaces. This role is critical to identifying and reporting security issues and ensuring the integrity of secure facilities during the construction process.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with construction managers, security personnel, and other stakeholders to address and resolve any security or compliance issues

  • Observe, inspect, and report construction site work

  • Screen all equipment, materials, and furnishings destined for use in the controlled construction area, using X-ray machines and any and all other methods of examination as outlined in the requirements and approved by the government

  • Operate proposed inspection equipment

  • Utilize knowledge of all construction disciplines, including civil architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering principles

  • Read and analyze designs and blueprints and recognize the architect's intended use

  • Analyze designs and structural complexities for ulterior purposes not intended by the architect

  • Exercise knowledge of Intelligence Community Directive 705 (ICD 705) standards, Best Practice Guidelines for Architectural Radio Frequency Shielding (Tempest Guidelines), construction principles, and the types of devices used by hostile and friendly intelligence services for the purpose of clandestine surveillance

  • Compose detailed reports in English and complete the analyses of issues, findings, and security situations that require staff action

  • Perform close-in/Seal-in inspections in accordance with the CSP, SSM, and SSC Direction

  • Photograph construction of secure spaces and document steps to support accreditation

  • Maintain daily logs during their tour of duty

  • Other duties of similar scope and nature as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years

  • 5+ years of experience as a CST or SSM for U.S. Government construction security projects

  • 5+ years of experience using AutoCAD or a similar CAD package

  • Completed U.S. Government approved SCIF, SAPF, SSM, and CST training course(s)

  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

  • Ability to travel up to 15%?

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain TS SCI/SAP

  • Experience with construction projects as a tradesman

  • Ability of independent decision-making, possess a high degree of individual initiative, and be able to function with minimal supervision

  • Ability to learn security operations and procedures

  • Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports

  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances

  • Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization

  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to work overtime and/or off-shifts dependent upon construction schedule
