Job description

The Body Shop Director oversees all day-to-day and long-term operations of the Body Shop Department, including accessories installation and body shop detailing functions. This role is accountable for production efficiency, quality control, workforce development, safety compliance, and overall operational performance. The Director partners closely with Service, Sales, Parts, and Leadership teams to ensure timely vehicle delivery, exceptional vehicle presentation, and alignment with dealership goals, including upholding and living the JM Lexus culture and delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee all Body Shop operations, including accessories and detail departments
  • Ensure workflow alignment with production, service, and sales schedules
  • Monitor and achieve quality, productivity, cycle time, and performance targets
  • Maintain compliance with Lexus Certified Body Shop standards
  • Ensure the highest levels of vehicle quality, finish, and presentation
  • Address escalated quality or customer concerns in partnership with leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, technicians, and support team members
  • Ensure the highest level of customer service is prioritized with every guest
  • Establish performance expectations and support ongoing development and accountability
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Utilize performance metrics and KPIs to drive operational decisions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Promote a safe, organized, and compliant work environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Service, Sales, Parts, and Executive Leadership
  • Contribute to dealership-wide operational strategy and performance objectives

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Services, Operations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in body shop, automotive service, accessories, or related operations
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing managers and multi-functional teams
  • Strong knowledge of body shop operations, automotive accessories, and detailing workflows
  • Proven ability to lead in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and performance standards
