Job Summary
A leading aerospace and defense technology environment is seeking a PC Board Designer IV for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Poway, CA. This role supports the design and development of complex printed circuit board layouts used in advanced remotely piloted aircraft, tactical radar, reconnaissance, and high-resolution surveillance systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop complex printed circuit board layouts, schematics, drawings, and related structural assembly details using PADS Power PCB and PADS Power Logic.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering staff to refine PC board design concepts, resolve design challenges, and support project milestones.
- Validate designs for conformity to applicable standards, specifications, dimensions, materials, and configuration requirements.
- Identify design errors, deficiencies, and manufacturability concerns, then recommend practical and innovative solutions.
- Maintain engineering documentation, archive design files according to configuration control procedures, and coordinate with PCB vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced PC board designers or support staff when assigned.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $49 to $62 per hour.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Initial duration: 6 months, with the goal of hire if performance and business needs align.
- Location: Onsite in Poway, CA.
- Schedule: 9/80 schedule, first shift.
- Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility.
- Extended hours may be required.

Required Qualifications and Skills
- Design and develop complex PCB layouts, schematics, and related drawings for advanced electronic assemblies.
- Support engineering teams through design reviews, documentation, vendor coordination, and configuration control.
- Validate PCB designs against ANSI Y4.15, IPC Standards, design specifications, and internal requirements.
- Troubleshoot, test, and support basic electronic assemblies, including basic soldering when needed.
- Associate degree or training certificate in basic electronics technology and CAD design software, or equivalent additional PCB design experience.
- Four or more years of progressive experience designing printed circuit boards using CAD engineering design software.
- Hands-on experience with PADS Power PCB and PADS Power Logic.
- Strong understanding of printed circuit board design concepts, drawing principles, ANSI Y4.15, and IPC Standards.
- Ability to develop complex schematics, PCB layouts, drawings, and related structural assembly details.
- Ability to make engineering computations and adjust drawings and specifications using CAD software.
- Ability to troubleshoot and test basic electronic assemblies.
- Ability to solder basic electronic components to PC boards when needed.
- Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple work phases.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and apply them accurately in an evolving technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with PCAD 8.5.
- Experience designing PC boards for aerospace, defense, radar, surveillance, unmanned systems, or other high-reliability electronics.
- Experience coordinating with PCB fabrication vendors and electronic assembly suppliers.
- Experience supporting configuration control procedures and engineering data file archives.
- Experience providing technical direction or mentorship to junior PCB designers or support staff.
