Attorney Role- must be admitted in NY - NJ a plus
Barry McTiernan & Moore's Manhattan office is currently seeking an experienced Attorney to join our General Litigation group. The ideal candidate will be admitted in NY and practicing for a minimum of 1 to 4 years in the areas of premise liability defense and property claims. Must possess experience in all phases of pre-trial litigation as well as strong organization, writing and analytical skills. We value collaboration and diversity among our team members and seek to make the practice of law a rewarding experience. Trial experience is not required but a plus.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery,
โ€ข Meticulous compliance with firm and client billing and reporting guidelines.
โ€ข Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences
โ€ข Conduct complex legal research and discovery.
โ€ข Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluations summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda and other case handling materials in response to client guidelines.
Requirements
Experience and Qualifications
โ€ข 1-4 years admitted and practicing as an Attorney in NY in a defense firm, labor law is a plus but not required. Admission in NJ is a plus but not required.
โ€ข Superior court knowledge and experience arguing cases.
โ€ข Superior case management and client advocacy skills.
โ€ข Experience drafting briefs and pleadings.
โ€ข Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
โ€ข Experience taking and defending depositions.
โ€ข Demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management and adherence to strict deadlines.
โ€ข Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven with a commitment to excellence.
โ€ข Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis.
