Commercial Kitchen Maintenance Technician
Department: Logistics

Compensation: $30.00 / hour
Description
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment supporting the Logistics and Culinary (LCE) division. This position primarily supports commercial culinary equipment while also providing maintenance support for logistics equipment and warehouse operations as needed. The Maintenance Technician travels to deployed job sites to address equipment failures and maintenance needs and performs equipment maintenance at the warehouse when not supporting field operations. This position reports to the Director of Fleet and Maintenance and works closely with Culinary and Logistics teams to help maintain safe, reliable, and operational equipment.
What You'll Do
  • Provide primary maintenance support for commercial culinary equipment, including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational.
  • Travel to culinary job sites as needed to support deployed equipment, respond to equipment failures during active projects, and inspect equipment for damage or maintenance needs before and after deployment.
  • Diagnose and repair applicable commercial cooking, food service, mechanical, and gas-powered equipment within the scope of the position.
  • Perform light electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, including safely de-energizing and locking out equipment and repairing or replacing plugs, outlets, switches, fixtures, lighting, cords, and other minor electrical components.
  • When not supporting deployed culinary operations, provide maintenance and repair support for Logistics equipment, warehouse facilities, and other assigned assets.
  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and work areas and perform general facility maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, doors, hardware, furniture, storage systems, and workspace configurations.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of assigned warehouse and facility work areas and address routine maintenance or safety concerns as identified.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, cleaning equipment, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned maintenance and repair work.
  • Order or coordinate parts and supplies, maintain appropriate inventory, and accurately document inspections, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Operate company vehicles as required, follow established safety procedures, and work flexible hours or travel based on project schedules, equipment needs, and emergency maintenance requirements.

What You Bring to the Table
Background Requirements:
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Technical or trade school training in equipment maintenance, appliance repair, electrical systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Cotton's policy

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance, commercial culinary equipment repair, appliance repair, or a related trade.
  • Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial or mechanical equipment required.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial equipment.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to safely de-energize and lock out equipment before performing maintenance or repairs.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize maintenance needs based on operational urgency.
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • English Required; Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
