Description and Requirements
BMC empowers nearly 80% of the Forbes Global 100 to accelerate business value, faster than humanly possible. Our industry-leading portfolio unlocks human and machine potential to drive business growth, innovation, and sustainable success. BMC does this in a simple and optimized way by connecting people, systems, and data that power the world's largest organizations so they can seize a competitive advantage.
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Product Management (with a focus on Agentic AI / Data) to define and drive the strategy for our next-generation enterprise software portfolio. Based in Santa Clara, this leader will own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for new, cloud-native Agentic data management products for orchestration, MLOps, observability, and data lineage.
In addition, this leader will pioneer the productization of agentic orchestration: enabling integration with intelligent agents, developing agentic protocols, and shaping governance models for enterprise-scale adoption.
This high-impact role will report into the VP of Product, and work closely with the VP of Engineering, VP of Strategy, the executive team, and our key enterprise customers.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for new products.
  • Partner closely with engineering leadership to translate strategy into scalable, cloud-native products.
  • Lead customer discovery, validation, and co-innovation efforts to ensure product-market fit.
  • Drive go-to-market alignment, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure successful adoption and revenue growth.
  • Develop business cases, pricing models, and market positioning for new offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends in data platforms, MLOps, observability, lineage, and agentic AI ecosystems to inform strategy.
  • Build and mentor a high-caliber product management team as the portfolio grows.
  • Act as the voice of the product with executives, analysts, customers, and ecosystem partners.

To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
  • 15+ years of product management leadership in enterprise software.
  • Proven track record of taking 0โ†’1 products from concept to adoption and scaling to significant ARR.
  • Deep domain expertise in one or more of: data platforms, orchestration, observability, AI/ML infrastructure, or automation.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams on complex, distributed, cloud-native platforms.
  • Direct engagement with enterprise customers, including CIOs, CDOs, and AI/ML leaders.
  • Background in competitive positioning, ecosystem strategy, and GTM enablement.
  • Exceptional communicator and influencer, equally effective with executives, customers, and technical teams.
  • Proven team builder and mentor who can scale product management functions.

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • MBA or business/leadership training preferred.

Why Join Us
  • You get to not worry about "distribution", which is the biggest moat in an AI-first world. BMC's install base is very sticky and includes ~90% of the Forbes 50 and Fortune 500.
  • You get to focus solely on building a world-class Agentic / AI-native product
  • You get to play a pivotal role in a growth-focused, innovation-driven environment in the heart of Silicon Valley.
