Job Description

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring aPlatform Developer to support our new mission in Springfield, VA. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining solutions within the organization’s ServiceNow environment. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, implement enhancements, and ensure reliable day to day operation of our ServiceNow workflows and applications. In this position, you will support platform configuration, script development, system integrations, and overall platform health to meet evolving mission needs.

In this role, you’ll work as a ServiceNow Developer supporting mission critical capabilities. ServiceNow experience is ideal but not required; candidates with Salesforce, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management/Service Desk expertise will receive structured onboarding, hands on training, and ongoing mentorship to build strong ServiceNow proficiency.

In addition to hands on development, this role assists with maintaining system security, supporting platform lifecycles, and ensuring stable, secure, and scalable ServiceNow operations. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your technical knowledge to a growing team and expand your skills in one of the industry’s leading enterprise platforms.

Level 3 salary range : 113,000- 160,000

Level 4 salary range : 140,000- 180,000

As a Developer, you will:

  • Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow solutions aligned with business requirements and ITIL best practices.
  • Develop and customize modules, applications, workflows, and integrations within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into effective, scalable ServiceNow configurations.
  • Build and maintain custom scripts, UI policies, client scripts, business rules, and automation workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, process owners, and cross‑functional teams to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and deploy fixes and enhancements.
  • Ensure documentation is created and maintained for configurations, customizations, and development work.
  • Follow governance, security, and development standards to maintain a stable and compliant ServiceNow environment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and platform features.
Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications:

Level 3 : 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Level 4 : 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience

5+ years of ServiceNow (preferred), Salesforce, BMC Remedy, or Jira Service Management/Service Desk development experience.

2+ years of JavaScript development experience.

Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in the following:

  • REST/SOAP API integrations
  • Workflow design and automation
  • Working within Agile development environments
  • Supporting ITSM-based implementations and platform configuration
  • Custom application development

TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain a CI Poly

Must meet DoD 8140/CSWF for 632-Basic or be willing to obtain the appropriate credential within 6 months

Preferred Requirements

Preferred Requirements include:

  • Experience working with CMDB / CSDM aligned data models, ServiceNow IntegrationHub, ServiceNow Service Portal or UI Builder.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale implementations and previous work supporting de‑customization efforts.
  • ServiceNow formal training or certifications such as ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD), ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITSM (CIS-ITSM), ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM (CIS-ITOM), ServiceNow Certified Application Specialist – Performance Analytics or equivalent Salesforce, BMC, or Jira credentials.
