As a Senior Wireless Systems Test Engineer, you will lead the validation and characterization of wireless products throughout the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with hardware, firmware, software, ODM and vendors engineering teams to ensure robust wireless performance, reliability, and interoperability across a wide range of deployment scenarios. This role requires strong technical expertise in wireless technologies, system-level debugging, automation, and test methodology development.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive wireless system test plans for new product development and sustaining engineering.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and test infrastructure to improve test coverage and efficiency.
  • Perform wireless system validation in both controlled RF environments and real-world deployment scenarios.
  • Analyze complex system failures by correlating wireless packet captures, device logs, cloud logs, and RF measurements to identify root causes.
  • Develop and execute performance, reliability, interoperability, stress, roaming, coexistence, and regression test plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Hardware, Firmware, Software, ODM, and Product teams to resolve cross-functional issues and drive product quality.
  • Utilize industry-standard tools including Wireshark, iPerf, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Vector Network Analyzers, and Power Analyzers for debugging and validation.
  • Create clear and comprehensive test reports, test documentation, and quality metrics using Jira, Confluence, and other engineering tools.
  • Design and improve wireless test fixtures, RF test setups, and lab automation to increase testing efficiency and repeatability.
  • Mentor junior engineers on wireless technologies, debugging methodologies, and test automation best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvements in test processes, quality metrics, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in wireless system testing, validation, or wireless product development.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, MQTT, TLS, and related protocols.
  • Extensive experience analyzing network traffic and wireless protocol behavior using Wireshark.
  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, or LabVIEW.
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless system architecture, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience developing automated test solutions using Python or similar scripting languages.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Self-driven with the ability to independently lead projects from planning through execution.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following wireless technologies:
  • Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax)
  • Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

  • Z-Wave
  • Sub-GHz (915/868 MHz)

Experience with RF and electrical test equipment:
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • Signal Generators
  • Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)
  • Oscilloscopes
  • RF Power Meters
  • Current/Power Analyzers (Keysight or equivalent)
  • RF High-Impedance Probes
  • Function Generators
  • Multimeters

Additional preferred experience:
  • Wireless coexistence, roaming, mesh networking, and interoperability testing.
  • Linux-based embedded systems and command-line debugging.
  • CI/CD integration for automated testing.
  • Experience with protocol analysis tools such as OmniPeek or Wireshark.
  • Basic soldering, hardware rework, and board-level debugging.
  • Experience with cloud-connected IoT products and mobile application testing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and certification testing (FCC, CE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Matter certification) is a plus.
