This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

In this role, you will establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in a production environment. As needed, measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals, integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices and communication of quality issues, and facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues with teams, lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and corrective action.

In addition, you will perform reviews and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records. You will perform periodic audits of the application of our quality system in accordance with AS9100, recommend initiatives and/or changes that will improve product and system quality, and provide quality assurance subject matter expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test. Periodically, you will interface with internal and external customers on quality related concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing, testing and launching Space systems to support Blue Origin's Vision.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments
  • Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals

  • Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test for the Manufacturing team
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. in engineering or equivalent STEM degree with 10+ Years of relevant experience.
  • Quality assurance experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation preferred
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Wire Harness manufacturing and Avionics assembly
  • Knowledge of Weld and NDT practices
  • Working knowledge of Precision Measurement Science fundamentals
  • Proficient in the fundamentals of GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of quality performance measurement analysis
  • Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis
  • Quality assurance experience in rocket engine production environment
  • Quality Management System audit experience
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
  • Working knowledge of aerospace assembly
