Job description

Provide professional security services to protect people and property, ensuring a vigilant presence and adherence to all company and state regulations under the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA).
  • Patrol assigned areas regularly (foot and/or vehicle patrol) to deter and detect unauthorized and criminal activity.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any suspicious behavior or security breaches.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the premises to ensure all doors, windows, and access points are secure.
  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance or emergencies, such as medical incidents, disturbances, or accidents.
  • Investigate disturbances and respond to emergency situations as trained.
  • Maintain accurate logs and reports detailing security incidents, disturbances, and any other noteworthy activities that occur during shifts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients with inquiries, directions, and other needs.
  • Enforce client policies, rules, and regulations while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders when necessary.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to uphold security standards and ensure compliance.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and relevant laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for armed positions).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
  • Familiarity with report writing.
  • Clean criminal record verified by background check.

Candidate must be sponsored by the employer and obtain a state-issued Security Guard License from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (PLA). If employed by a Proprietary (In-House) Guard Force: While a state license may not be required, the employer mandates a clean background check and compliance with all training set forth by the company and any applicable local ordinances. (For Armed Positions Only: Requires a separate, state-approved firearms permit and completion of a 12-hour firearms training course.)
