Job description

Job Title: Armed Security Officer
Location: Detroit, Michigan
Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
Compensation: $25.00/hour base pay + additional mileage compensation up to $5/hour
Blue Line Security Solutions is seeking vigilant, professional, and reliable individuals to join our team as Armed Security Officers. This position requires prior armed security experience, strong situational awareness, and the ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure environments. Because this is a driving-based security position, candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain active auto insurance, have a clean driving record, and have reliable transportation.
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the safety and security of our client's personnel, premises, and assets while maintaining a strong security presence and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Escort and protect client personnel, property, and assets in accordance with Michigan Public Act 330 of 1968 governing private security guards and agencies
โ€ข Conduct regular patrols to deter and detect unauthorized activity
โ€ข Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, disturbances, medical incidents, or accidentsโ€ข Complete incident reports and document security-related activity accurately and thoroughly
โ€ข Provide exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients with questions or concerns
โ€ข Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary
โ€ข Follow all company policies, client procedures, and state and federal regulations to maintain compliance and security standards
โ€ข Participate in ongoing training related to firearms safety, emergency response, de-escalation, and security procedures
โ€ข Perform additional duties as assigned by management
โ€ข Must be willing and able to work in an armed capacity at all times while on duty
Qualifications:
โ€ข Prior proven experience working as an Armed Security Officer required
โ€ข Minimum of two (2) years of experience carrying a firearm professionally with no disciplinary history involving misuse of firearms or inappropriate use of force
โ€ข Michigan or Indiana Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or applicable pistol permit required
โ€ข Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
โ€ข Active personal auto insurance required
โ€ข Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to drive during assigned shifts
โ€ข Strong surveillance, observation, and decision-making skills
โ€ข Knowledge of legal guidelines regarding security operations, public safety, trespassing, and use of force
โ€ข Excellent communication and report-writing abilities
โ€ข High school diploma or GED equivalent required
โ€ข Must be at least 21 years of age
โ€ข Clean criminal background with no felony convictions
Licensing Information:
Unarmed Guards: Michigan does not license individual unarmed guards; however, the guard must be employed by a licensed private security agency or a proprietary (in-house) security force. The employee will be submitted to the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) on the company's quarterly employee roster. (For Armed Positions Only: Must be registered with the State of Michigan and have completed specific training in the use of the firearm approved by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). A valid Concealed Pistol License (CPL) is required if the weapon is carried concealed.)
