Job description

Blooming Hill, a farm to table Restaurant & Catering Company, in Monroe, NY is looking for both full & part time cooks to join our already strong team. We are located on Route 208 at Blooming Hill Farm. Our ideal candidate is punctual, attentive, ambitious, and engaged. A full time schedule for us is around 45 hours per week with all time over 40 hours paying time and a half. Part time would be 25-30 hours per week (3 days, fri-sun ideally). Starting pay 20$ an hour or more depending on your experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, breakdown & fully clean workstations for restaurant service and events
  • Cook dishes a la minute during busy service, and in large batches for events to our high standards
  • Follow health and safety guidelines and work in a clean and efficient manner
  • Prepare a wide variety of food ingredients for use during restaurant service & for catering events
  • Take instructions from the chef and sous chefs, follow recipes, and work prep lists


Desired Qualifications

  • Proven working experience as a cook - both for prep & busy restaurant service/catering
  • Familiarity with various kitchen equipment & cooking techniques
  • Intermediate or better knife skills
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to follow instructions and recipes closely
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively & work with a team
