The Bloomberg CTO Office is the future‑looking technical product arm of Bloomberg L.P. We envision, design, and prototype the next generation of products that heavily rely on cutting edge technologies. Our projects include machine learning‑powered products, generative AI and cloud computing infrastructure and strategy, our desktop and mobile applications, open source stewardship, and more. We partner with all aspects of our company, including financial products, broadcast and media, internal tech, and beyond. We are passionate about what we do.

What’s In It For You

We are seeking a strategic and driven Head of Product to own the vision, strategy, product team, partner operating model, and measurable client and commercial outcomes for the

This is a high‑impact leadership role at a pivotal moment for Bloomberg. As AI reshapes how financial professionals discover information, interact with workflows, and make decisions, you will help define the future role of mobile within the Bloomberg ecosystem.

You will lead the Mobile Product team and work across Product, Design, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to deliver a cohesive, best‑in‑class mobile experience that extends the power of Bloomberg beyond the desktop.

You will shape how AI‑powered experiences come to life on mobile, where speed, focus, context, and trust matter most. You will also ensure the Bloomberg Professional App strengthens the value of Bloomberg Anywhere offering and delivers clear impact for clients and the business.

We’ll Trust You To
  • Lead and develop the product team: Build, manage, and mentor a team of Product Managers spanning mobile platform experience, AI, and partner enablement, setting clear expectations, coaching toward best practices, and cultivating a high‑performing product culture.
  • Define the mobile vision and strategy: Own a multi‑year roadmap for Bloomberg Professional mobile (iOS and Android), defining the role of mobile within the broader ecosystem as AI reshapes how financial professionals discover information and make decisions.
  • Help define the long‑term role of mobile within the Bloomberg ecosystem: Develop a perspective on how desktop, mobile, AI assistants, intelligent agents, and emerging interaction models should work together to create differentiated value for Bloomberg clients.
  • Drive the AI‑first experience: Spearhead the transition to mobile‑native AI, ensuring that Bloomberg’s key products and intelligent agents are delivered with high quality, speed, and contextual relevance.
  • Own outcomes, not features: Define and track engagement, retention, and stickiness KPIs, fostering an outcome‑based success criterion. Report impact to senior leadership and use data to drive prioritisation across the portfolio.
  • Scale the mobile ecosystem model: Establish and scale the operating model for how distributed product teams integrate into the mobile app. You will ensure a cohesive client experience is maintained while partnering with teams across the business and interfacing with Terminal application frameworks teams to ensure this federated ecosystem is built on a robust, performant, and shared foundation.
  • Champion mobile as a strategic platform across the firm: Act as the senior voice of the client for the Bloomberg Professional mobile experience across the company. Set the agenda for how mobile is represented in firm‑wide product strategy, partnering with Product, Design, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Product leaders to align mobile priorities with desktop roadmaps, AI initiatives, and Bloomberg’s highest‑priority client and commercial objectives.
  • Operate as a true partner with Design and Engineering: Build a strong Product‑Design‑Engineering partnership, bringing Product, UX, and technical perspectives together early and consistently. Co‑own discovery, problem framing, solution design, and delivery to ensure the Bloomberg Professional App reflects deep client understanding, mobile‑native craft, and high‑quality execution.
  • Drive commercial impact: Ensure the Professional App provides meaningful, measurable, and growing ROI for the business. Partner with Sales to integrate mobile into campaign infrastructure, support retention strategies for low‑engagement users, and articulate the Bloomberg Anywhere value proposition to the market.
  • Govern app‑store presence and platform compliance: Own iOS and Android release governance, platform compliance, and proactive OS adoption — ensuring the app meets the security, regulatory, and accessibility standards required of a regulated‑industry financial platform.
You’ll Need to Have

  • Proven ability to navigate complex, matrixed enterprise environments and align cross‑functional leadership, Engineering, UX, Data, Sales, Compliance, behind a shared product direction.
  • Experience leading product organisations through ambiguity, helping define product strategy during periods of technological and organisational change.
  • Strong understanding of mobile platforms across iOS and Android, with the technical depth to partner credibly with engineering leads on platform architecture, APIs, and shared services.
  • Significant experience delivering mobile products in financial services, fintech, market data or a comparable regulated, real‑time environment.
  • Demonstrated success defining and tracking product metrics that tie to business outcomes, engagement, retention, adoption, commercial impact.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and operate in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Product Management, Finance, Business).
We’d Love to See
  • Broad fluency in financial markets, instruments and professional workflows, ideally direct familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal.
  • Experience with generative AI, conversational interfaces or LLM‑enabled product surfaces, particularly on mobile.
  • A track record of translating feature‑dense desktop products into focused, mobile‑native experiences.
  • Experience managing large, federated application ecosystems, including app‑store governance, partner enablement and framework‑driven development at scale.
  • Proficiency with AI productivity and prototyping tools, with the ability to use them to accelerate product discovery, prototype concepts and partner more effectively with Engineering.

  • A demonstrable obsession with mobile craft: glanceable design, push and alerting strategy, contextual intelligence and the user journeys that earn a place on a professional’s home screen.
