Position Overview

We are seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President to join our Asia High Touch Cash Equities Trading team in New York. The ideal candidate will have significant experience executing hightouch cash equity orders across major AsiaPacific markets, managing trading risk, and partnering closely with sales, research, and electronic trading teams to deliver superior client execution and market insight.

This role requires strong market intuition, exceptional execution capability, and the ability to thrive in a fastmoving environment while representing Jefferies' global hightouch equities platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute hightouch cash equity orders across major AsiaPacific markets (ADRs)ย 
  • Manage intraday trading risk within established limits and contribute to the desk's overall PnL performance.
  • Provide timely market color, regional insights, and flow commentary to institutional clients and internal partners.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, research, electronic trading, and global sector teams to enhance the firm's client offering.
  • Maintain realtime awareness of regional market developments, macro events, corporate actions, and regulatory frameworks affecting Asian equity markets.
  • Ensure accurate trade booking, reconciliation, and coordination with operations, middle office, and compliance.
  • Support content generation, pretrade analysis, and clientfacing commentary for Asia trading flows.
  • Uphold Jefferies' culture of integrity, teamwork, and responsible risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of hightouch cash equities trading experience, with direct AsiaPacific market exposure strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of market microstructure, liquidity dynamics, and regulatory environments across key Asia markets.
  • Quantitative aptitude and strong analytical skills; familiarity with TCA and trading analytics a plus.
  • High proficiency with Excel; experience using Bloomberg, OMS/EMS platforms, and trading systems required.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fastpaced, highvolume environment.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear market color and client interaction.
  • Exceptionally organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • A selfstarter capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Required registrations: Series 7, 63, and 57 (or willingness to obtain in short order).
