Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group. As part our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients, you'll leverage your leadership and Medicaid program and policy skills along with drive, initiative, and problem-solving abilities to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You'll be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures.

You will leverage your Medicaid program and policy project management skills to help a current client by leading projects within a program of multiple Medicaid initiatives focused on waiver and state plan amendment design, development, and implementation at various stages in their project lifecycle.

You will be either remotely based or out of one of our several office locations. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will mentor junior staff as well as drive your personal growth with the support of a learning and development culture. 

Travel Expectations: Up to 50%.

You Will
  • Use your knowledge and experience to provide project management, subject matter knowledge and leadership; this includes helping develop client deliverables such as program and policy recommendations, state plan and waiver amendments, complex analysis, ongoing status reports, data and technical strategy plans, and presentations.
  • Build relationships with project team members including client contacts, stakeholders, federal partners, and vendor contacts. You'll also communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders. Oversee the work of junior colleagues and provide guidance around schedule, scope, and deliverable for team members reporting to you.
  • Develop your own career plan and mentor BerryDunn team members through partnered practice, knowledge sharing, and collaborating on project deliverables. Participate in marketing and business development activities, such as writing blog posts, attending conferences, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with go/no-go decision-making.
You Have
  • 5 years relevant professional experience in state or federal government, healthcare, and/or consulting
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working directly for, or consulting directly with, a State Medicaid agency
  • Significant experience working with the Medicaid program and policy, in one or more of the following areas:
    • Developing and /or implementing Medicaid policy and programs
    • Interpreting and analyzing federal laws and regulations, documenting recommendations for achieving compliance
    • Supporting skills such as stakeholder engagement, research, and meeting facilitation
    • Alternative experience working for managed care plans and/or state Medicaid managed care plans, or other relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and problem solving for clients as well as using critical thinking skills to adapt to changing priorities in a deadline-focused environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and client relationship building skills
  • Bachelor's degree or years of experience in substitution for a degree
Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $100,000 - $115,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
