Job description

You are responsible for delivering all behavioral elements of total wellness in order to develop a large number of needs-based relationships with clients and dogs grounded in the core value of trust. To accomplish this, your schedule will include, in addition to performing traditional training services, integrating new dogs into the daycare environment, performing behavior evaluations and walk assessments, and assisting in training dogs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing Total Wellness to All Dogs
  • Integrating all new dogs into the supervised care environment (NDI)
  • Providing Behavior Evaluations (BE) for all high potential clients
  • Providing Walk Assessments (WA) for all dog walking dogs
  • Managing and promoting weekly Puppy Play Groups, Ask the Trainer and other events
  • Discussing total wellness with all training and high potential clients
  • Training Dogs
  • Teaching Private Lessons
  • Teaching Group Classes
  • Administering Train and Plays (including timely follow-up reports to parents, including a video link sent via e-mail)
  • Developing Business
  • Consistent and enthusiastic communication with parents in person and via the phone and e-mail including reporting to parents on NDIs, BEs, WAs and PPGs
  • Documenting all conversations and keeping track of the highest priority clients
  • Working closely with General Managers to determine the highest priority clients to focus on
  • Developing & Educating Associates
  • Training Apprentice Dog Trainers and Dog Trainers to ultimately become Dog Trainers and Senior Dog Trainers
  • Working with dog care staff to enhance dog safety and happiness

  • Managing and maintaining training equipment
  • Ensuring that each location is stocked with all training supplies (e.g. books, retail inventory)
  • Maintaining education standard - you must earn 12 hours of CEUs per year if you are a CPDT. If not, you must have a written plan/schedule for attaining a CPDT credential

  • Must be physically fit to lift dogs 50+ lbs, kneel, stand for long periods of time and perform requirements of the job.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word) and Internet savvy.
