Birch Academy is a 10-month, state-approved specialized school located in New Hampshire, designed to serve students whose primary special education needs relate to Autism and Developmental Delays. Our mission is to empower each child by strengthening their academic foundation, building upon their individual strengths, and fostering independence through functional communication and adaptive life skills.

We take pride in our strong interdisciplinary team which includes:
Certified Special Education Administrator
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
Certified Educators
Speech-Language Pathologist
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs)
Behavior Technicians

Now, we’re looking to expand our team with a dedicated and dynamic Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping students thrive.

Who We’re Looking For: Occupational Therapist (OTR/L or COTA)

The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, and student-centered—ready to support learners in developing the motor, sensory, and adaptive skills needed for success across all learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evaluations and contribute to IEP development with a focus on motor, sensory, and self-help skill areas

  • Develop and implement individualized and small-group occupational therapy sessions

  • Collaborate closely with educators, BCBAs, and families to support functional independence

  • Integrate sensory regulation strategies into classroom routines

  • Provide consultation to staff to support students’ sensory and motor needs throughout the school day

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and school policies

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of New Hampshire

  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental delays (preferred)

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Passion for inclusive, strengths-based, and functional skill-building

  • Comfortable working in a team-based, data-driven environment
