Position Opportunity:
The Business Development Manager - West Coast represents Matica Bio’s Cell and Gene Therapy development and GMP manufacturing services to potential clients and other market stakeholders. The Business Development Manager is a key contributor to the sales cycle supporting our overall sales process from lead management process to successfully securing business opportunity. This role will be responsible for driving incremental growth by delivering qualified opportunities from multiple lead-generation sources to be distributed to regional teams and also closing WINs for Matica Biotechnology. The position is expected to work from a home office, managing a west coast geographical territory presenting the company’s value proposition to qualified targets through in-person meetings, on-site facility visits, industry conferences, social platforms, video and other electronic channels. This position will also work very closely across all operations and administrative departments to provide compelling solutions to the company’s target clients.
How you will make an impact:
Business Development
1. Create and execute targeting campaigns to support directed lead generation for identified capabilities to generate leads for Matica Biotechnology.
2. Generate and manage leads from multiple sources to deliver qualified opportunities for Regional Business Development teams.
3. Be the first point of contact to prospective customers, identifying their needs and aligning with internal capabilities.
4. Achieve or exceed company established annual and quarterly sales and profit targets for West Territory.
5. Research and qualify target companies including global pharma, small/mid-size biotechs and academic/NFP institutions.
6. Generate new contacts, leads, opportunities, CDAs, and Proposals as defined in commercial strategy.
7. Engage with commercial operations team for development and execution of prospect lists and territory plans.
8. Support Marketing initiatives, maximizing translation of inbound leads from marketing activities to qualified contacts and opportunities.
9. Effectively manage and communicate sales pipeline to internal stakeholders through CRM and other communication channels.
Corporate Support amp; Adhere to Established Policies
1. Support parent company, CHA amp; Matica initiatives.
2. Ensure effective communication, adherence of all established values, and policies.
3. Support execution from US as needed from CHA.
Perform other duties as assigned and/or required, including corporate-level operational tasks
As a future Matican you bring:
Education
- BS degree in related scientific discipline
- Graduate degree in scientific discipline preferred
- MBA degree a plus
Experience
- gt;2+ years' experience in a Business Development / Account Management role in the CDMO, biotechnology or Life Sciences industry
- Experience in a biotechnology or life sciences contract services company preferred
Licenses or Certifications
- Sales training amp; certifications is a plus
Knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets for products or services to Life Sciences companies
- Has established network of buyers and similar decision makers in specific sales territory
- Knowledge of target companies in specific sales territory
- Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of the clinical development phases for therapeutics and vaccines
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant applications required
