Job Summary
Indirect Materials Procurement is responsible for the procurement of indirect material including but not limited to spare parts, production supply, packaging, facility supplies, tooling / fabrication, and services for the factory. This role involves budget planning, supplier management, and inventory control to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, facility, and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Processes Request for Quotation, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and change requests if any.
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
  • Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, supplier database information, error report analysis, and supplier information.
  • Performs cost analysis and works with requesters for volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment, and services).
  • Monitors the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned suppliers to negotiate highest quality at best value.
  • Interacts closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers on any quality concerns to resolve quality issues.
  • Escalates critical issues to the relevant stakeholders and superiors.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Skills
  • Purchasing and supplier management skills.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills to secure the best prices.
  • Good computer skills (SAP ERP, Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint) are a must.
  • Good data analytic and data science skills (Excel, Knime, Alteryx, Power BI, Python) are preferable.
