Director, Finance Transformation – ERP Implementation

Pay Rate: $100 – $120 per hour (W2)

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States

Are you a Director-level Accounting Expert with a deep background in Biotech/Life Sciences ready to lead a critical NetSuite ERP implementation?

We are seeking a seasoned financial leader to serve as the Finance Subject Matter Expert for a major NetSuite transformation project in San Diego. This is a high-impact, contract role where your expertise will directly shape the future of our financial reporting, controls, and compliance structure.

If you thrive at the intersection of complex GAAP/SOX compliance and system automation, we want you to safeguard the integrity of this critical financial transition.

Transformation and Compliance Guardian

As the Director, Finance Transformation, you will be the core representative for all Finance and Accounting requirements during the NetSuite ERP implementation. Your primary mission is to ensure the new system design is robust, compliant, and optimized for a public company in the life sciences sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • NetSuite Implementation Leadership: Act as the primary Finance lead, providing expert input on system design for General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Financial Reporting.
  • Data & Compliance Integrity: Safeguard compliance by ensuring NetSuite configuration supports all GAAP, SOX, and internal control requirements. Validate the accuracy and completeness of financial data migration.
  • Process Optimization: Partner with cross-functional teams and consultants to identify and implement opportunities to streamline manual accounting processes through NetSuite functionality, driving automation and efficiency.
  • Audit Collaboration: Collaborate with third-party SOX providers and auditors to validate financial system compliance and IT General Controls (ITGCs).
  • Testing & Adoption: Lead participation in testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and training to ensure effective system adoption across the Finance and Accounting teams.
Qualifications for Success Required Expertise
  • 15+ Years of progressive accounting experience, with significant time spent in a senior leadership or Director-level capacity.
  • Mandatory Public Company Experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Sciences industry.
  • Hands-on Experience Supporting NetSuite ERP Implementations from an Accounting and Finance perspective.
  • Deep functional knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and robust internal controls.
  • Proven track record of driving process automation and improvements in financial operations.
Highly Desirable
  • CPA License is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
