Job Summary:
Chestnut is the first AI mortgage lender, aiming to help Americans save billions in interest on their mortgages. They are seeking a Software Engineer to build automated mortgage brokering and potentially take on product ownership or engineering leadership roles in the future.
Responsibilities:
• Quickly ramping on mortgage.
• Qualifying more leads by extending our AI voice agent.
• Boosting our close rate with beautiful rate quotes.
• Automating loan processing with browser agents and automated underwriting.
• Helping define Chestnut’s culture by writing, recruiting, and role modeling.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Hunger for high-focus, high-growth work.
• Ability to build robust full-stack solutions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• 5+ years experience in full-time engineering/engineering management roles.
Preferred:
• Production use of LLMs and other modern AI tools.
• History of hacking on side projects.
• Interest in people management/mentoring.
• Experience working with sensitive data (finance, biotech, etc.).
