Job description

REVENUE MANAGER
Location; Remote, US
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager of Revenue will show independence while performing assigned responsibilities and will relentlessly uncover possibilities for process improvements. Areas of responsibility include the recording, analysis, and review of daily revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, SOX, and external audits. This person will provide key support for the monthly closing of accounts and preparation of revenue papers to support the financial statements. Additionally, the Manager will generously collaborate with other members of the accounting team to address dynamic developments to ensure best in class accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analysis and preparation of monthly revenue workpapers – reserves, journal entries, revenue workbooks.
  • Support the monthly and quarterly revenue close process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare, maintain, and update internal control documentation including process narratives and control matrices; support internal controls testing.
  • Research and document appropriate FASB ASC 606 accounting treatment as needed.
  • Prepare and review reporting on various pricing matrices to Government entities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including finance, commercial, and various business owners on a variety of projects.
  • Provide key support for the implementation of new launches (regions/products) as they interface with the revenue accounting processes and systems.
  • Manage day-to-day transactional order-to-cash activities (e.g., AR aging, cash collections, cash applications) to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audits.
  • Other ad-hoc projects as needed.


The Manager will courageously perform all responsibilities in a manner that ensures compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies related to revenue recognition.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on revenue recognition (ASC 606).
  • Recent and significant experience at a publicly traded company.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements, specifically as they relate to revenue and receivables.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute a complex monthly/quarterly close process.
  • Advanced computer system skills (e.g., Office, Oracle, Power BI).
  • Ability to analyze data and identify significant trends.
  • Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong spoken and written English.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated experience in a technical accounting role within the Life Science, Biotech, or pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working at Big 4 accounting firm / CPA preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
