Role: Director, Professional Services PMO

Location: US Remote

Overview:

We are looking for a Director, Professional Services PMOto lead the strategic and operational execution of our Professional Services (PS) function within an assigned region. This role is responsible for driving adoption of global PS standards, methodologies, and governance practices while partnering closely with regional delivery leadership to improve execution quality, delivery predictability, and portfolio health.

Reporting to the VP of Professional Services PMO, this leader serves as the regional point of contact for delivery governance, project quality, operational reporting, and continuous improvement. The role partners closely with Delivery Leadership, Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to ensure projects are well planned, governed effectively, and consistently delivered in alignment with customer expectations and business objectives.

This position is an individual contributor (IC) role at the Director level, with no direct people management responsibilities. This is NOT a back-office PMO role.

What You'll Be Doing/Scope:

Delivery Governance & Project Quality

  • Champion adoption of global Professional Services methodologies, standards, tools, and governance practices across the region.
  • Conduct regular project quality reviews to ensure project plans, milestones, financial forecasts, risks, issues, and customer commitments accurately reflect project health.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Delivery Leaders to improve planning rigor, execution discipline, and overall delivery consistency.
  • Identify delivery trends and recurring issues and work with regional leadership to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Deal Review

  • Partner with regional Sales and Delivery leadership through structured deal review cycles, assessing project scope, implementation approach, staffing feasibility, delivery risk, and commercial considerations prior to contract signature.
  • Ensure Statements of Work are deliverable, aligned with regional delivery capabilities, and consistent with global Professional Services standards.

Audit & Compliance

  • Lead regional project audit readiness and governance reviews, ensuring engagement documentation, project controls, work plans, and time reporting comply with established PS standards and corporate policies.
  • Partner with Finance and Revenue Recognition teams on audit requests and corrective actions as needed.

Professional Services Tools & Methodology Adoption

  • Drive regional adoption of global PS templates, tools, and methodologies.
  • Partner with the VP of Professional Services to identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance project management tools, and pilot new capabilities that improve delivery execution and project visibility.
  • Promote consistent use of project management tools to ensure accurate and timely project reporting.

Regional Portfolio Governance & Reporting

  • Lead regional portfolio governance and operating cadences, providing visibility into delivery performance, project health, forecasts, and emerging risks.
  • Ensure project work plans remain current, milestones are maintained, and project data accurately reflects delivery status.
  • Support executive business reviews through meaningful dashboards and operational insights that enable proactive decision making.
  • Partner with regional delivery leadership to continuously improve forecasting accuracy, delivery predictability, and overall portfolio performance.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-12+ years of experience in Professional Services, Consulting Operations, or Delivery Operations within a global SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated experience improving delivery governance, portfolio management, project quality, and operational execution across large, complex services organizations.
  • Experience partnering with regional delivery leadership to improve execution, delivery consistency, and customer outcomes.
  • Experience supporting structured deal reviews, project governance, audit readiness, and executive reporting.
  • Experience leading organizational change and driving adoption of standardized delivery methodologies and governance practices.

Tools & Technical Fluency

  • Strong experience with PSA platforms (Upland, Certinia, or similar) and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Working knowledge of project and portfolio management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Practical experience leveraging AI and automation to improve operational efficiency, reporting, project management, and delivery insights.
  • Advanced Excel and Business Intelligence skills (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
  • Understanding of services financial management and revenue recognition principles.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong analytical and business acumen with the ability to evaluate project health, delivery risk, forecasting accuracy, work plan quality, and portfolio performance.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on scalable, repeatable processes.
  • Build strong partnerships across Delivery, Sales, Finance, Customer Success, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field required; MBA preferred.

The annual base salary range for this position is $155,000.00 - $172,873.06

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
