BioMedical Equipment Technician
STATEMENT OF NEED: We are seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join our healthcare technology team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all life-saving medical equipment is installed, calibrated, and maintained to the highest safety standards.
Industry: Industrial Support to HealthCare
Location: Navy Expeditionary Medical Support Command, 1201 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
Experience: 5-7 years
Annual Salary: $75,000.00 to $81,000.00 Based on Skills and Experience.
Employment Type: Full Time
Schedule: Monday thru Friday but flexible depending upon government customer needs.
Pay Frequency: Biweekly

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of Five (05) Years Experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician
  • Possess experience with Subspecialty Scientific/Environment Analysis Equipment
  • Strong Technical Background and experience with supporting military operations and clients
  • Performs installation, inspection, calibration, and modification of biomedical equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting TJC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, FDA as applies to biomedical engineering.
  • Ensures client priorities are understood and followed.
  • Meets both company's and client's quality standards. Ensures quality control systems and documentation are maintained.
  • Direct experience performing operations theory, underlying physiological principles, and safe clinical application of biomedical equipment.
  • Keeps records of maintenance, repair and required updates of equipment
  • Performs technology management and equipment repair/calibration in support of deployable medical systems in keeping with OEM specifications; Identifies potential electrical or mechanical hazards
  • Performs biomed equipment and parts material management using Computer Maintenance Management System(CMMS)
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assesses and evaluates the condition of biomed inventory medical equipment for readiness, maintenance, upgrade, or replace recommendations.
  • Ability to conduct training to staff regarding operating and operator preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Knowledge of The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, FDA and other regulations, procedures, and practices as it applies to biomedical equipment.
  • Utilizes and interprets technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems.
  • Conducts analysis of problems in integrated/interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits.
  • Reports upon and utilizes complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions for different purposes.
  • Reads and interprets technical documentation of various manufacturers in support of maintenance and sustainment.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
  • Preference given to Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate of Science Degree in technical field is preferred.
  • Related field and experience in a fast moving and military surge environment of rapid deployment and readiness with proven track record of technical expertise and dependability is preferred.
