Job description
PTHMS is a part of the vibrant educational and cultural community of Northwestern University. We are located on the Chicago campus of Northwestern University, between North Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan along "Chicago's Magnificent Mile". The Department includes strong, talented faculty engaged in research, teaching and clinical practice. Faculty have shared positions and collaborations with colleagues in the Departments of Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, Radiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, Physiology, Orthopedics and Neurological Surgery. A secondary appointment in engineering is available depending on the applicant's background. PTHMS faculty participate in two NIH-funded graduate student training programs in movement and rehabilitation sciences. Research interests of faculty members are focused on the understanding of movement disorders in persons with neuromuscular dysfunction, including stroke, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's Diseases and musculoskeletal injuries through the use of engineering (Neural Engineering, Imaging, and Mechatronics), physical and pharmacological approaches.
