Job Title: Biomedical Equipment Technology (BMET) Curriculum Consultant
Location: Remote / Occasional On-Site (West Palm Beach & Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Position Type: Contract / Project-Based
Position Summary
HCI College (Fort Lauderdale, FL) is developing a new Biomedical Equipment Technology diploma program and is seeking an experienced BMET practitioner - ideally CBET-certified - to serve as a curriculum consultant and subject matter expert. You will shape the program from the ground up, working alongside instructional designers with real clinical and field experience guiding every module.
  • Curriculum Development: Design a 10-month Diploma and a 24-month Associate of Science (AS) curriculum, including course descriptions, student learning outcomes (SLOs), and clock-to-credit hour mappings.
  • Equipment Strategy: Provide a comprehensive "Master Equipment List" for a modest yet high-quality lab, including diagnostic tools (Safety Analyzers, Patient Simulators) and medical assets (IV Pumps, Defibrillators, Patient Monitors).
  • Accreditation Alignment: Ensure the program structure meets ACCSC standards and aligns with the ABET (Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission) criteria for future programmatic accreditation.
  • Industry Certification Mapping: Integrate content specifically designed to prepare students for the CABT (Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology) and CBET (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) exams.
  • Advisory Board Support: Assist in identifying and recruiting local South Florida healthcare leaders for the Program Advisory Committee (PAC).

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on BMET or HTM experience (hospital, ISO, or OEM background all valid)

  • Experience teaching, training, mentoring, or precepting other biomeds (formal or informal)
  • CBET, CHTM, or equivalent certification preferred but not required
