Job description

Overview
The BMET 2, with minimal supervisions, maintains maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment . Responsible for performing preventive, predictive and repair maintenance and other scheduled services on Biomedical and related equipment. Perform repairs and other technical activities with minimum supervision. Requires good oral and written communication and customer service skills. Maintains equipment inventory records and parts.
The BMET 2 can teach basic skills to BMET level one technicians and can mentor others in basic skills. BMET Comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology. The BMET 2 demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems.
Responsibilities
Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, and network medical systems.
Demonstrates to the ability to oversee department related projects.
Mentors BMET 1 technicians
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment with minimal supervision.
Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care Is familiar with the operations and environment utilized to support hospital, clinic, et. Has comprehensive experence in their assigned clinical environment Capable of troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment independently specifically when on call.
